The part that I like abo...I am ethnically Chinese.

The part that I like about PLAN in its modernization is that it's not wasting any of the older ships. As long as these ships have any kind of life left in them, PLAN will try to use them. There is no such thing as early retirement that USN does. Any one who compares how PLAN spends money vs USN who see that USN is blowing through too much cash.Fenghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09351872761178293322noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2810814791836407713.post-65336755697452174582011-10-19T00:47:26.482-07:002011-10-19T00:47:26.482-07:00nice posts. just out of curiosity, are you Chinese...nice posts. just out of curiosity, are you Chinese?

Really surprised that DDGs are built at the same rate as Frigates.

Good points on refitting old ships. During this peaceful era, most of the hard works done by the military don't really require high tech arsenal. Most of early cold war weapons could do what today's billion dollar weapons could do on a normal day, such as intercepting foreign aircraft, boats, and etc. Unless you are having an all out war against another country, high tech weapons are not required.
Of course they are still mandatory and should be built in large numbers for prevention and show of power. But there is definitely no need to build a new weapon to do the same thing a semi-retired weapon would do. That is simply a waste of money.KERS-2012https://www.blogger.com/profile/10296019782651634072noreply@blogger.com
